This is the one
The first thing we did was eat. Vicky and I traveled from Round Rock, through Austin to Buda in January of 2022 to take delivery of our 36’ fifth wheel recreational vehicle (RV). This saga has been years in the making and it almost seemed surreal to finally be signing on the dotted line and moving into our rig.
We checked in at the office around 10:00 am (our contract signing was scheduled for 1:00 pm) and then went to the trailer. We entered, sat down and proceeded to eat breakfast.
CrestView RV was very helpful and a delight to work with, although the prices for supplies and accessories are way over the top. But as part of the purchase, we got a $50 gift card so we bought black take enzimes, a water hose, sewer hose and more. Gotta have those essentials.
After much research and internet searching, we decided on the Reflection 337RLS. The only question remaining was to buy used or new. We found a great deal on a 2022 unit at Crestview RV in Buda, Texas and finally signed on the dotted line in early January. We brought it home soon after and parked it in the driveway of Vicky's sister Rhonda.
For those of you familiar with the Grand Design floor plans, this will really come as no surprise. The 337 is the Reflection is a rear living plan and a front bedroom with the bed in a slide to the side. That is, the bed
is in an east/west configuration (sideways) instead of the more familiar north/south. Yes - this means the RV is a bit longer and heavier than we originally wanted, but we really like the extra room.
The rig has an electric fireplace (with heater), wide screen television, island kitchen with a nice, large pantry and it has a refrigerator that Vicky refers to as a "huggable." She really likes it. It is a 12-volt electric (instead of the classic electric/propane variety of yore) and is supported by a rudimentary solar system. Yes, it comes with a solar panel on the roof and basic ancillary equipment. The plan is to expand that down the road, but it is great for now.
There is lots of storage and places to stash our gear. The living area features theatre chairs that have built-in heat, massage and lighting. To be honest, we quickly disabled all that because you could not move around at all without turning on the heat or massage. There is also a nice large three person couch that folds out into another bed for guests. The lighting is a bit harsh at this point, but will be attending to that.
