Our 2022 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS represents a significant investment on our part and so keeping it in tip-top shape is very important. Also, as good as the floor plan and amenities are, our rig is not quite perfect. To that end we are continuously making changes and repairing glitches as we come across them.
You already know about the improved outside grab bar upgrade. We have also replaced the stock door latch with a model that can be locked via wireless key-fob or keypad. Inside we have moved some towel bars around, installed additional towel bars in the bathroom and a longer hand rail along the stairs up to the bedroom/bath area. We also replaced the backsplash behind the coffee hutch with a stacked stone look PVC material.
The largest and most significant upgrade so far has been that made to the electrical system. We have installed over 600 watt hours of LIFEPO battery storage with six solar panels on the roof to keep the batteries charged. What's more, we have a 3000 watt inverter/charger which provides full time AC power to the rig whether plugged into shore power or not. This is a game changer because we can be "dry" camping out in the boondocks and still have air conditioning and all other electrical amenities.
I recently had to repair a small section of the roof where the "rubber" membrane that covers the entire roof had been ripped by a low tree branch. Other upgrades coming up include the replacement of the gas struts on the queen bed platform to support our new and heavier mattress, LED light fixtures to better illuminate the food pantry, a Verizon SIMM card to provide better and faster internet access via our cellular router, and some new AC electrical outlets with USB charging ports for the living area.
