Preparations

They say that "prior planning produces peak performance", but since I always avoid alliteration, I won't say that.  We have gone on several trips in our new rig so far and have a very good idea of what we will use on a daily or regular basis, and what we won't.  The won'ts are going to stay home next time.

So far we have discovered a need for the portable grille and outdoor table.  While we enjoy being outside, it isn't necessarily where we wish to eat.  But when we do, it helps to have a solid table underneath your food.  So we bring along a couple of folding tables that serve multiple purposes.  We also have a couple of different camp chairs that we are still learning about.  We need to balance the need to bring stuff with the need to keep the trailer under weight.  Our storage bay is not too full, but with chairs, grille, power center, tools, parts, camp rug, plus electric, water and sewer hook-up accessories, we already have a fair load.

We travel with two cats.  They have learned to be indoor kitties (at least temporarily) and we have learned the best places for the cat box, food dishes, and some of their best hiding places.  Samson and Ziva are outdoor cats so we have talked about the challenges and dangers of letting them go outside.  One area we will be exploring on a future excursion will be traveling with a cat enclosure.

We have recently begun storing our RV at a storage facility.  So I have cleared the tree branches haning over the road in front of our house and will be bringing the rig over and parking it out front two or three days
